R.F.O. WEALTH ADVICE

28 It is a form of specialised collection which has many forms: by category, specific themes such as railways or tramways, mining companies, banks, insurance companies, food com- panies, very wide themes that have kept many issuing companies busy. An important parameter in their classification is their rarity since many of the compa- nies that issued certificates then went bankrupt or were incorporated and/or conferred or liquidated. Among the subjects interested in scripophily there are many curious people and a growing selection of scholars. The first are truly passionate in examining the many modes with which the certificates express themselves and the others obtain a confirmation of their immense culture. The exclusive private colleciton contains financial titles coming from all over the world. Moreover, there are many letters, receipts, transfer notes which which offer historical ref- erences and an added value to each certificate. The collection can be defined a heritage of great cultural interest in the world’s finan- cial history. They are unique works similar to jewels. The enhancement process carried out starts from the international criteria to which new IT technologies have been integrated in order to gain a better understanding of the entire heritage. The digital filing allows all the data to be cross-checked and it is thus much easier to study the certificates by category, country of issuance, city, year, currency or for the notes overleaf as is the case at the Study and Research Centre within the R.F.O. The classification fields have been increased as compared to the classic formulas to better share all the data, including non standard data, according to both the classic and digital filing procedures with a filing model which has been especially created for this type of collection.
