R.F.O. WEALTH ADVICE

9 The Study and Research Centre - Institutional Projects R.F.O. which is dedicated to culture distribution and liberal research in all cultural fields and science through the digitalization of historical documents in a quest to ascertain their historical-artistic and economic-social value, now presents the project ‘ANTIQUE MENUS - Food and Culture are Part of the Same Story.’ The work has undergone the application of all digital conversation activities necessary which guarantee the durability and conservation of information in digital format. This method preserves the originality, integrity and usability of the document over the long term and thus ensures the possibility of retracing the history of the object taken into analysis as well as the context in which it was present. The archiving pertains to an important collection of antique menus from the early nineteenth century until the second half of the twentieth century and includes Italian, European and international menus, some of which come from royal houses. Moreover, present in the collection are menus dedicated to ceremonies in honor of illustrious historical and cultural personalities such as D’Annunzio, Garibaldi, Giolitti and Van Gogh. The private collection also testifies to historically significant international events such as the 1956 gold menu with a performance by the legendary singer Eartha Kitt at the Cafe de Paris in London, or a renowned silk menu from an English supper hosted by the British politician George McWatters. The collection includes a menu from the wedding of his Royal Highness the Prince of Naples with her Royal Highness Princess Elena of Montenegro
